Chelsea have one hand on the Barclays Premier League title after Eden Hazard knocked Manchester United out of the reckoning in the leaders’ 1-0 win at Stamford Bridge. Jose Mourinho’s third Premier League title and Chelsea’s first for five years could be just 11 days away after Hazard’s 38th-minute strike sent the Blues 10 points clear of second-placed Arsenal. Mourinho has taken a game-by-game approach to the season and will refuse to get ahead of himself, but win at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday week and Chelsea could be crowned champions at Leicester three days later. Arsenal would have five games to play, but the Blues would have an unassailable 16-point lead and clinch the self-proclaimed Special One’s third English championship following his successes in 2005 and 2006. United, who began the day eight points behind, dominated the opening period, but their only chance of note saw Wayne Rooney shoot narrowly wide. Hazard then showed why he is favourite for the PFA Player of the Year prize, netting his 18th goal of the season on the counter-attack following Oscar’s fine flick. The strike, seven minutes before half-time, shifted the momentum of the contest in Chelsea’s favour. Juan Mata has been influential in recent weeks, but he was unable to inspire United on his first return to his old stomping ground. Kurt Zouma, meanwhile, fully justified his inclusion in midfield in combating the considerable threat of Marouane Fellaini. United had reason to feel aggrieved when Ander Herrera was booked for diving when tripped by Gary Cahill in stoppage time. Referee Mike Dean ignored United’s penalty appeals and Mourinho and Chelsea were able to celebrate a significant triumph. Press Association Rooney started in central midfield to accommodate Radamel Falcao as one of three changes for injury-depleted United, while Chelsea made two changes following the win at QPR, with Zouma and Oscar coming in. Loic Remy was unable to return from his calf problem and Diego Costa (hamstring) is at least a week away from a comeback, so Didier Drogba continued up front for the Blues. With Herrera dictating play in holding midfield and Luke Shaw racing up the left, United penned Chelsea back in their own half and appeared not to miss Michael Carrick (calf) and Daley Blind (ankle). It was Chelsea who appeared to miss their absentees most early on and the visiting fans and goalkeeper David de Gea thought Rooney had scored from Shaw’s cut-back, but the ball veered narrowly wide before rippling the net from behind. United’s start was strong enough for their central defenders to wander forward, with Chris Smalling strolling into midfield before a wild pass and Paddy McNair – in for Phil Jones (ankle) – forcing a corner from his shot. Chelsea were playing on the counter, but Drogba’s pass towards Hazard, who was in a promising position, was intercepted. De Gea met a hopeful cross with his fist on the edge of the area, with the goalkeeper given the benefit of the doubt. The next contentious decision went Chelsea’s way as John Terry tackled Falcao, who had his back to goal. The ball went to Cesc Fabregas down the left and the masked playmaker fed Oscar, who exquisitely back-heeled the ball to Hazard. The Belgium forward surged into the left side of the area before slotting the ball under De Gea. United boss Louis van Gaal made his displeasure known to fourth official Craig Pawson, but his complaints fell on deaf ears and Chelsea were transformed from submissive to dominant, epitomised by another physical challenge from Terry on Falcao. Chelsea and Hazard came close to a second when Herrera gifted the ball to Nemanja Matic. Matic’s through ball released Drogba, who held off Smalling to get a shot away which De Gea saved. Hazard tried to acrobatically flick it in from an acute angle, but it hit the post. Another McNair shot from 25 yards was deflected and saved by Thibaut Courtois and Mata next went close from Shaw’s cross. Cahill blocked from Falcao, who had fired just wide, before United made changes in attack, with Mata and Ashley Young replaced by Adnan Januzaj and Angel di Maria. Falcao got behind Zouma to latch on to Shaw’s pass and struck the outside of the post. Herrera then went over just inside the box, with Cahill complaining. Rooney was among the United players to express his displeasure towards Dean, but the official ruled in Chelsea’s favour as the Blues moved within reach of the title.

Lakers free agency rumors: Los Angeles is Carmelo Anthony’s ‘most likely destination,’ executives believe “There will be a lot of changes,” Lakers owner Jeanie Buss told the Los Angeles Times earlier this week. “Lakers fans, be patient. We’re going to get there. We’re not going to stop until we’re all proud.”The Lakers reportedly have interest in Bobby Portis, Marcus Morris, Al Horford, Brook Lopez and DeAndre Jordan, as well. They also are the “most likely” destination for Carmelo Anthony. Those three players, who combined to average 10.2 points per game last season in limited playing time, are set to earn around $5 million in 2019-20.The Lakers completed one of the biggest trades in NBA history earlier this month when they acquired Anthony Davis from the Pelicans in exchange for Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart and three first-round picks. Related News Los Angeles will pursue a third star this summer to pair with Davis and LeBron James and it has been linked to Kemba Walker, Jimmy Butler, Kawhi Leonard, Kyrie Irving and D’Angelo Russell. But, if the team makes no more moves, it’s only expected to have around $23 million available this offseason and will not be able to offer a max contract. NBA free agency rumors: Lakers rooting for Kyrie Irving to sign with Nets The Lakers continue to look to clear salary space.Los Angeles has reportedly been shopping the contracts of reserves Mo Wagner, Jemerrio Jones and Isaac Bonga to other teams. Those talks, however, have gone “nowhere” as the team has “limited ability to sweeten a deal with draft picks,” according to a report from Sports Illustrated, which cites unidentified league sources. By Rachel Dorman, MS & Heidi Radunovich, PhDThe repercussions of traumatic events that occur during military deployment can leave veterans struggling with depression or comorbid disorders that need mental health care. According to the VA, in the past nine years there has been a 130% increase in female veterans who have received VA mental health care. While previous research on female veterans often focused on other mental health topics, Curry and colleagues (2014) sought to look closer at how major depression and comorbid disorders impacted female veterans.[Flickr, 157595 by North Carolina National Guard, CC BY-ND 2.0] Retrieved on September 17, 2015The authors collected data as part of the VA Mid-Atlantic Mental Illness Research, Education and Clinical Center. The study contained 1,700 veteran participants, 1,354 men and 346 women, who had served in the military since September 11, 2001. Participants were interviewed using the Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-IV Diagnoses (SCID-I) to determine diagnoses. The researchers found the diagnosis of major depressive disorder over the life course (MDD), was significantly more common among female veterans than male veterans. This is consistent with the gender differences found in non-veteran populations. The researchers found MDD to be more common among veterans who were divorced or unemployed at the time of the study. Women with MDD were more likely than men with MDD to have anxiety and eating disorders as comorbid diagnoses.[Flickr, By Minnesota National Guard, CC BY-ND 2.0] Retrieved on September 17, 2015The researchers call for more work to be done in the area of female veteran depression and comorbid disorder. They recommend that practitioners be aware of common comorbid mental health conditions, such as PTSD, eating disorders or anxiety disorders, to insure that they are providing the most effective treatment protocol. You’ve already shot the wedding video and your edits are coming along. But what about the soundtrack? Find the right music for your wedding highlight reel with these tips.Editing a wedding video is very similar to editing a documentary. Tons of footage from multiple angles, and you have to find the right way to present it. You can’t just search for “the perfect wedding song for this video.” (How awesome would that be?)You need to know what kind of story you are telling, and then narrow it down from there. Here are four things to account for when searching for the right music.1. Find Music That Fits the CoupleThe most important part is finding music that fits the couple’s taste. Otherwise, they won’t like the video. Like any other product, customer satisfaction should be your number one priority. There are a few ways you can learn the couple’s musical taste. The easiest is to ask them. When you are first meeting with the couple, ask them about their likes and dislikes. Know what kind of music they tend to listen to. Do they always play the current pop hits? Are they indie folk fans or into hip-hop? Jazz fusion? Do they like both kinds of music, country and western? The other way to find out is paying attention during the reception. See what songs really get the crowd moving and dancing. That’s your cue to know what type of music to feature. It’s going to look really out of place if your video has upbeat disco funk and everyone is slow dancing.2. Story Driven vs. Music DrivenEvery single wedding is different. You may have already noticed that. There are times when every speech is phenomenal and the vows are perfect. There are also plenty of speeches that fall flat. Not only is the couple a huge factor in determining the flow of the video, but so is the entire family. When you have great speeches to work with, it’s easy to plot out the direction of the film. You can mix in parts of the best man’s speech, and the one from the maid of honor. You can weave through the couples love story. The audience may hear about how the couple met, or a funny experience they had. With these stories, you can move through your piece and let it flow naturally. Let the speaker move you through shots of the day, and just have a simple light soundtrack play in the background. This story-driven technique has become the most sought after type of wedding video. If you don’t have any speeches or vows to work with, then you better have your editing skills ready. It just got a lot tougher. That said, you can still tell a story without words. Look for the right ballad to help you move from one scene to another. The right song can really make a sequence great. Just look at the montages of famous feature films. They are just a sequence of shots edited together with the right music. You are essentially making a montage of the day, and the music will set the mood.Deciding on having a story-driven or music-driven wedding video (or combination of the two) will lead us to our next point.3. Lyrics vs InstrumentalNot every song is going to work if your video has a lot of dialogue. Sometimes you need a cinematic instrumental playing in the background so you can hear the vows or a speech. If you don’t have much dialogue, then a vocal track may be the better option. When it comes down to it, you will be the ultimate judge on what sounds the best. Most often, wedding highlight videos will feature one instrumental and one song with vocals. You may hear a light classical piece during the ceremony and a fast-paced dance song with lyrics during the reception. Don’t be afraid to experiment. If you aren’t sure if a song will work, try throwing it in your project timeline. Some sites (like PremiumBeat.com) allow you to download free watermarked previews of songs. You can see if the song works with your project, or if it just doesn’t fit. If it does work, then you can just purchase a license and replace the preview with the non-watermarked track.4. Music RightsAfter you find the right song, you need to know if you have rights to use it or not. This is how you avoid a lawsuit. When a bride and groom share their wedding video, they aren’t going to want to find out it got flagged online for a copyright violation. So you have two main options; hire a musician or license tracks. If you have the budget to hire a musician, or have a talented friend you can do an exchange of services with, that’s a great start. If not, there are plenty of sources for you to find music online. Now I won’t go on listing other sites… you can find those on your own. What I can do is brag about the ease of using PremiumBeat. Not only is there a massive collection of songs, PremiumBeat’s royalty free music allows multiple uses with one license. Pay once and you can use it over and over again. PremiumBeat.com also has two sections dedicated to wedding music. You can easily search for Classical wedding music or Modern.Did this post help you narrow your music choices? Australasia’s most young-at-heart Touch Footballers will be as giddy as schoolkids in anticipation of the Australasian Masters Games to be held in Adelaide from 5-14 October 2007. The first ever Australasian Masters Games will be a continuation of the biennial Australian Masters Games, which celebrated its 10th competition in 2005. This year the tournament will expand, as Adelaide welcome’s the region’s best Masters athletes in early October. The Games, Australia’s largest multi-sport festival, are the premier event for 30-plus sportspeople nationally. Touch Football has a rich tradition and connection with the tournament. The sport was part of the Inaugural Australian Masters Games in Tasmania in 1987.The Games have since been held in Adelaide, Brisbane, Perth, Melbourne, Canberra and Newcastle. In 2005, 380 Touch Footballers travelled to Adelaide to take on some of the best senior division athletes in the sport. This year administrators are expecting more than 400 players will line up on the half way line to test their mettle against opposition from all corners of the Australasian region. More than 10,000 participants and several thousand accompanying family and friends have attended the past five Games. With the City of Churches hosting its fourth Masters Games, the tally is sure to grow further. Touch Football South Australia will be involved with the running of the competition, organising aspects such as referees and grounds. Touch Football SA Game Development Officer Andy Crawford said Touch Football is an ideal sport for Masters athletes. “It’s one of the best sports for the masters’ age group because there is low impact on the body and there is minimal force. It’s not like a high contact rugby league competition or something like that which they may have done when they were younger and stronger. Touch Football is also a great social sport and is ideal for Mixed as well. We are at an advantage because our sport already caters for Seniors with Senior age divisions woven into the fabric of our game at most tournaments,” Crawford said. South Australia and New South Wales will contribute the majority of the 2007 Touch Football teams. The Australian Capital Territory, Victoria and Queensland will also be represented. One of the most heavily involved participants will be South Australian Sean Owens. Owens has taken it upon himself to register and coordinate five teams in the Games. He will be playing in a Men’s and a Mixed team, as well as putting his hand up to referee. Owens jumped at the opportunity to get involved with this year’s Masters Games after competing in 2005 and having a blast. “I basically just put my hand up to organise a team and it snowballed from there. I contacted a bunch of friends of mine and said I’m putting together a team, let me know if you’re interested,” he said. Owens said that because it is a participation event with no specific selection processes there will be a wide range of abilities but the focus of the tournament would be on having a good time. “Goal setting will probably be to have as much fun as you possibly can, give it a red hot dig on the day and see where you go from there,” he said. Adam Carter, Australasian Masters Games Sport Coordinator, said the single 30-plus prerequisite would allow a plethora of mature people to get involved. “What we try to put on is a competition about participation, having fun, good healthy competition, and a good social program for them to enjoy. Hopefully it keeps them coming back for future Games,” Carter said. If you are interested in getting involved registrations are still open until this Friday, August 3, 2007. Simply complete the Participant Games Entry and Touch Sport Entry forms found in the Games Registration Booklet, or register online at: http://www.australasianmasters.com/Sean Owens said he would encourage absolutely everyone to get involved. “It’s an easy game to learn. I’m an example, I started playing when I was 32 and now I’m playing State level. You can, if you’ve got a reasonable level of fitness, go all the way in a fairly quick period of time,” he said. http://www.australasianmasters.com/
