He’s hitting .733for the year and doing a great job behind the plate when he’s not on the mound.Green said Dexter Norris is hitting .417 and setting the table for our offense at the leadoff spot. Grant Smith, Colter Silhan, Derek Williams and Kurt Sloan are doing nice thing for Oxford as well.“We need to get some of the younger, inexperienced kids, in the bottom part of our order to grow a little bit,” Green said.In the Central game, Oxford  took a 1-0  and 4-1 lead to eventually win 7-5. But in game two, Central opened a 6-0 lead and Oxford could not recover.“We did a nice job in Game 1 of putting the ball in play and doing the little things,” Green said. “Game 2 was a different story. Oggie Shimkus, who is a junior, struggled a little bit early on the mound, but settled down later. He’s rather green in terms of pitching. This is the first year I’ve run him out there for more than a handful of innings”Oxford will battle Sedan on Monday. Silhan Game 1 – Oxford 7 Central 5 Close Forgot password?
