Repeat offender slapped with narco-trafficking charge

first_imgRepeat offender Leon Hussain of Cane Grove, East Coast Demerara was on Friday morning taken before Magistrate Wanda Fortune to answer a narcotics possession charge, for which he was remanded to prison.Leon HussainThe 31-year-old labourer denied that on January 18 last, he was found to be in possession of 14 grams of cocaine and 134 grams of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.The Prosecution is contending that ranks in ‘C’ Division swooped down on Hussain’s home and found the drugs hidden in a basket. As such, he was cautioned, told of the offence, and was arrested and charged.Reports are that, in 2015, this defendant had been charged for a similar offence; and in 2016, he had been charged with the offence of wounding.The narcotics possession case will continue on February 16.last_img read more

As you’d expect there is plenty of footballing memorabilia at the FA HQ – but O’Connell is unhappy at one photograph looking over him as he sleeps.It’s an action shot of Peter Shilton in action for England against Argentina in the World Cup in Mexico in 1986.The game is best remembered for Maradonna’s ‘Hand of God’ moment which resulted in England’s exit from the competition.O’Connell would much rather a photograph of Donegal’s goalkeeping legend Packie Bonner. O’Connell put the photograph on his Instagram and said, “Peter Shilton watching over me tonight.
